Frequently asked questions... Q.) Do I have to go round the course with my children? A.) Depending on the age and ability of your child/children, you do not have to go round the course with them. Very young children, who cannot manage our Klipa safety system without assistance will only be able to attempt our Green, low level course, where parents may assist from the ground. Those children who can manage our Klipa safety system unaided can attempt some of the higher level courses. You can still be near them and offer advice or encouragement from the ground and take photos. Ofcourse, many parents do join in and go round the course with their children, turning it into a family activity. Q.) Do I have to remain on site while my children take part in Rope Runners activities? A.) A responsible adult has to remain on The Bunker site at all times while children under 16 take part in Rope Runners activities. Youths aged 16 or over, who arrive unaccompanied are treated as adults. While waiting for your children, why not take in the hour long Bunker tour and then visit the Canteen for a drink or a snack. Q.) Do I have to be fit? A.) A degree of personal fitness is required to complete our courses and we would ask you to be honest with yourself about your level of fitness. You can take a breather after each course and of course you can choose to do just some of our 5 couses each time you come. Q.) I’m afraid of heights – what happens if I get stuck? A.) Our staff are practiced in rescue techniques and we can get you down safely if necessary. Our staff are also very good at talking to clients and encouraging nervous clients around – you may surprise yourself and conquer your fears enough to complete at least some of our courses! Q.) What happens if I fall? A.) Your safety equipment will prevent you from falling far, so if you do slip off an element, you will be quite safe while you climb back on and continue on your journey. Q.) Can I get drinks/snacks? A.) The Bunker Canteen sells a range of drinks and snacks. At the weekend the Canteen kitchen is open offering a range of hot and cold meals. Please be aware the Bunker closes earlier than we do, so may not be open at all times. Our snack shack is now also open where you can buy a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks. Q.) Are you open if it's raining? A.) Yes, our team are here in all weathers except for Thunder and Lightening. Waterproofs are a good idea but nothing really stops us! Q.) Do I have to pay just to watch my children? (Yes we really do get asked this one, quite often actually!) A.) No, if you just want to come and watch then that's fine - we don't charge, but instead of just watching why not join your children and have some fun - you might enjoy yourself and surprise them in the process!!! |
